Midjourney
v7.2Best image qualityThe aesthetic benchmark: no other model produces images this consistently beautiful. The trade-off is a learning curve and no free tier.

Avantages et inconvénients
Unmatched aesthetic quality — lighting, texture and composition feel art-directed by default
Style and character references keep multi-image projects visually consistent
Relax mode gives effectively unlimited generations on Standard and up
No free tier — you commit before you know if it fits your style
Prompting has its own dialect; expect a week of trial and error
Moderation rules shift without notice and are enforced inconsistently
Fonctionnalités en détail
Style & character refsFeed reference images to lock a look or keep the same character across dozens of generations. The single biggest reason professionals stay.
Region editingSelect any part of a finished image and re-prompt just that area. v7.2 made selections object-aware, so masks snap to subjects.
Web editor & moodboardsOrganize, upscale, retexture and remix from the browser — Discord is now optional, not required.
Draft modeHalf-cost, double-speed roughs for exploring directions before committing GPU time to finals.

Politique de contenu & NSFW18+
The most permissive of the three, which still means PG-13. Artistic nudity is nominally allowed but the filter is moody: identical prompts pass one day and fail the next. Real-person likenesses are blocked. If your work leans adult, you will fight the moderator more than the model.
Le verdict
If the picture is the product, Midjourney is worth every dollar and every hour of learning curve. Everyone else should start cheaper.
